The picture was taken the 7. December 1998, at 11:16:53 (p.m.)
It is the light inside the circle, that is the interesting one.
The color on the light is put there by the software.
There has been no air-traffic in that area at that time.
No detection on the radars at the nearest airport or at the military.
There was two planes arriving from Gardermoen. They were on the route just above
Hessdalen at 11:10 (p.m.) and 11:20 (p.m.) That was out of the view of
the camera.
Enlargement of the light:
It seems that the light has been just
a small flash. In the picture you see that there is light in every second line.
One picture is made by by putting two "half-pictures" together. The first half-picture
consist of line no. 1,3,5,7 and so on. The next half-picture consist of the other lines,
line no. 2,4,6,8 and so on. There is 20 ms between those two pictures. The light
is seen in only one of those two half-pictures. That indicate that the lifetime has been
20 ms or less.
