Observation done by people in the year 2002

Date: 23.12.2002 Time: 5:07 P.M. Place: Vårhus in Hessdalen
Observer: Bjørn and Bjarne Lillevold
Bjørn and Bjarne were working with a car out on the yard at home. They suddenly became aware of a big black vertical "stick", just above the automatic station. The lower part of the "stick" did make a blue-green flash now and then. It could go minutes between each flash. It moved slowly towards south, in direction Rognsåsjøen. It disappeared behind the mountain 15 minutes later.
Ref. Bjarne Lillevold.

Date: 03.11.2002 Time: 4:45 P.M. Place: Heggset in Hessdalen
Observer: Rutt-Marry Moe
Rutt-Marry went to the window facing north, in her sitting-room, looking for the flowers. She become aware of a strong light in the north, just above the cowhouse of her neighbour. She saw that the light was moving straight up. Rutt-Marry called Hallfrid Lillevold, and asked her if she and Bjarne could go out and look for the light. They did not see any light. It could have disappeared before they went out, because Rutt-Marry saw it disappeared just after she had called them. The light was orange coloured, and it was a little bit smaller than the moon.

Date: 12.10.2002 Time: 6:56 P.M. Place: Vårhus in Hessdalen
Observer: Bjarne Lillevold
Bjarne was at home when he saw a cigar shaped object coming from the south east. The phenomenon went above the church and turn direction toward north west. It moved by fits and starts. The colour was orange. The phenomenon moved very low above the Heggsethøgda hill, and disappeared behind the lowest poing of mount Finnsåhøgda. It showed up again above the highest point of mount Finnsåhøgda. It moved towards Haltdalen. Then did Bjarne see the back of the phenomena, which was round as a football, and black. The themperature at Bjarne was -1.3°C, it was wind from north west and it was cloudy. It was much northern light that evening.

Date: Period from 1.09.2002 to 6.09.2002 Place: Hessdalen
Observers: 41 pupils (15 years old) from Hafslund school, who participated in Science Camp
The pupils were located at mount Rognefjell and mount Finnsåhøgda, every night from 8 p.m. They went to sleep in a tent in the middle of the night. They saw the phenomena several times.
Ref. Erling Strand.

Date: 14.08.2002 Time: 5:20 P.M. Place: Vårhuskjølen in Hessdalen
Observers: Anders, Birgitta and Linn Berglund
Anders Berglund from Østersund in Sweden, together with his wife Birgitta, and dother Linn, had been on holiday for three days at a cottage in Finsådalen. They had just started driving on the mountain road up towards Vårhuskjølen when Birgitta saw an "object". In the beginning they thought it was a plane. She told Anders, who stopped the car at once, and took his binoculars and jumped out of the car. It was hard to get a good view of it in the beginning. It was moving from the south towards the north. When it was coming nearer, it was possible to see that it was cigar shaped. It looked like a plane without any wings or engines. The color was light with dark lines across the body. No sounds could be heard. The speed was approx. 100 km/h, so it was moving fast. It moved straight above our heads, and disappeared behind the mountains in the north.

Date: 10.08.2002 Time: 7:00 P.M. Place: Gruvdalen, southwest of lake Hessjøen in Hessdalen
Observers: Anonymous
A person went picking berries in Gruvdalen. At about 7 P.M., that person was high up in the mountainside, picking cloudberry. The person sat down to rest, and had a good view towards the mountains north-east of lake Hessjøen. The person saw something that looked like a fire, in the mountainside on mount Grønåshøgda. Using binoculars, the person saw that it was an object, with the same colors as a fire. It was as big as a big tree, a spruce. It was oval shaped, standing on the short egde. After some minutes, the light moved down the mountainside, and disappeared behing Hessjøhøgda between lake Hessjøen and Gruvdalen. This observation make a strong impression on the person who was alone.

Date: Period from 5.08.2002 to 18.08.2002 Place: Hessdalen
Observers: Researchers from Italy and USA
The researchers run a research project in Hessdalen between August 5. to August 18. Some observations were done during that periode. Most of the observations were done from the hill Aspåskjølen. Read their report.
Ref. Erling Strand.

Date: 06.08.2002 Time: 11:30 P.M. Place: Hessdalen
Observers: Terje, Rune and Erland Nytveit, Kjell-Åke and Lena Modt, Linda Moulton Howe
Terje Nytveit, and his sons Rune and Erland, were standing at the parking place north in Hessdalen. There were also Kjell-Åke modt and his wife Lena Modt. In north-north-east, about 50° above the horizon, did they see a light moving in the south-east direction. The size was like a strong star. Suddenly it was gone. - Linda Moulton Howe was at Aspåskjølen, facing north, interviewing people. All the other observers at Aspåskjølen were looking towards south. The observation lasted only some seconds. Based on NASA's database, there was only satelite Oscar 32 which was nearest to the observation.
Ref. Linda Moulton Howe.

Date: 05.08.2002 Time: 09:27 P.M. Place: Aspåskjølen, north in Hessdalen
Observers: Ewy Moberg and Erik Lindquist
Ewy and Erik was standing on Aspåskjølen looking for the light. At 9:27 P.M. did they see a light in direction 261°, just above the horizon of mount Finnsåhøgda. It was as strong as a strong planet, and it was clouds in behind. Erik was looking at it with binoculars. Suddenly it started to spinn, and move fast down behind the horizon.
Comments: - The planet Venus was in direction 255°, 10° above the horizon. The top of mount Finnsåhøgda is 6.3° above the horizon, when you are at Aspåskjølen. It should then be possible to see Venus just above the edge of mount Finnsåhøgda. This could be the explanation of this sightning. When he saw that it started to spinn, and move fast down, might then be due to moisture in the air. What is difficult to explain, is the clouds that was seen behind the light. That is the reason for why you find the story here.
Ref. Erik Lindquist.

Date: 14.06.2002 Time: 04:00 P.M. Place: Hessdalen
Observer: Rutt-Marry Moe
Rutt-Marry was driving home from the store in Hessdalen, which is located close by the church. When she was at Trøan, just north of the community centre, a little bit south of Heggset, did she see a black or blackgrey flying "thing" down at the river. It had wings, but no windows. It was flying towards south, very close to the river. She was looking down at it. She believde it was a plane, but wondered how a plane could fly so close to the ground.
Comment: Could this be a drone from the military? At 4.40 P.M. did I (Erling Strand) see a big plane from the military, fly very low in Hessdalen. Bjørn-Gitle Hauge and some friends was at mount Finnsåhøgda south, and saw the plane in the same elevation as they. This is very low for such a big plane.
Ref. Rutt-Marry Moe.

Date: 05.06.2002 Time: 09:55 A.M. Place: Hessdalen
Observer: Rutt-Marry Moe
Rutt-Marry was sitting in her kitchen, looking out of the window facing west. It was sunshine and warm weather. Suddenly did she see a white phenomena, without any wings, in the north, just above the horizon at mount Finnsåhøgda. It moved slowly towards south. It was flat on the bottom, highest in the back, more flat in the middle, and a little bit higher again in the front. She went out, because she wanted to find out if there were any sound from it. No sound could be heard. She saw it for 4 to 5 minutes before it disappeared behind the mountains in southwest.
Ref. Bjarne Lillevold.

Date: 03.06.2002 Time: 09:03 A.M. Place: Ålen
Observers: Bjørn Lillevold og Geir Helge Engan
Bjørn and Geir had just arrived at the Statiol petrol station in Ålen when they saw a big cigar shaped phenomena in direction mount Rognefjell. It was just above the horizon, and moved slowly toward north. They watched it for 1 to 2 minutes before it disappeared behind the mountain. - The phenomena was white, with a black part in the middle. Each part was equal in size. - It was sunshine and warm.
Ref. Bjarne Lillevold.

Date: 31.03.2002 Time: 02:56 A.M. Place: Vårhus in Hessdalen
Observer: Bjarne Lillevold
Bjarne went up in the middle of the night. When he saw out of the window, did he see a big oval shaped ball of light standing in the northern part of mount Finnsåhøgda. The light did swing and go around as a ball. He did look at it for 20 seconds before he went for the binoculars. When he came back to the window, the light was gone. It was clear weather that night.
Ref. Bjarne Lillevold.

Date: 02.02.2002 Time: 10:45 P.M. Place: North in Hessdalen
Observer:
The observer was at home, south in Hessdalen. She was looking out of her window, in the north direction, when she saw a strong light moving from the east to the west, north in Hessdalen. It lasted a very short time, around a second. She tought it was because of the weather. It was warm that day, more than 0 °C.
Ref. Bjarne Lillevold.

Date: 02.02.2002 Time: 10:00 P.M. Place: Stensli, north of Ålen
Observer:
The observer was driving down the Hessdalslia. Suddenly did he see a big bright flash of light at Stensli, just on the other side of the valley. It lasted only a fraction of a second. It was clear weather, no wind, and the temperature was +2 °C.
Comment: Could it be some kind of electrical discharge?
