Date: 27.09.1991 Time: 12:16 am and 12:18 am Place: 2,5 km south of Støren
Observer: Leif Havik
On the way back from Lundamo (from the north) to Rognes, along the road RV30, I saw a flash of light in the southeast direction,
over the edge of a ridge. The color was reddish orange. This happened at 12:16 am and I thought at first it
was a visual illusion or a reflection in the windshield.
When I arrived at "Sandsvingen" along RV30, approx. 2.5 km south of the village Støren, 12 or 16 light sources
lit up in square shape. This happened at exactly 12:18 am. They went out as soon as they were lit and the light source was not moving.
"The collection of lights" stood in front of a patch of young forest and clearly below the ridge. Probably in between
50m - 200m away.
I slowed down and switched on the high beams, but couldn't see anything special.
I didn't feel for stopping the car to look. I didn't meet any cars on the 7 km stretch.
It was partly cloudy and the moon was faintly shining, with the moon up to the left. The temperature was about +5°C.
