Date: xx.12.1983 Time: ? Place: Bjørgen
Observer: Knut Höen.
One evening on New Year's Eve, I was visiting my lady on Bjørgen when I saw an inexplicable light of all sorts
of colors. First, I saw a red light, faintly on a valley side. The light rose straight
up and changed to a very clear blue-green light. When it had risen about 200 meters, it began to flash red and yellow.
The temperature was about -10°C when the light phenomenon appeared. I was really scared
so that night there was no visit to my lady. It all happened right by Ravnås farm.

Observer: Ingeborg Anna Tamlagsrønning
Ingeborg observed this from the living room window and on the stairs outside.
It was a shiny object, yellow light, a round ball with a tail. It stood still for a few minutes.
After a while it disappeared very quickly.

Date: 22.12.1983 Time: 11:20 pm Place: Hessdalslia
Observers: Bjarne Lillevold, Jon Arvid Aspås and Martin Aspås
Bjarne saw a light phenomenon at the TV mast in Hessdalslia when he came from Killingdal Gruber.
A cigar-shaped phenomenon passed over Hessdalskjølen.
The light was bright, and with tremendous speed it disappeared to the north.
Jon Arvid Aspås came from Aspåsgårdene, and Martin Aspås saw the same thing from Hessdalslia.
It was an oblong object with a red light in front. It seemed to come straight up behind the highest part of Finnsåhøgda.
It went in a northeasterly direction and turned north. After 2 to 3 minutes it suddenly disappeared.
Ref. Bjarne Lillevold.
Date: 22.12.1983 Time: 05:05 pm Place: Aspås, Hessdalen
Observers: Jon and Marit Aspås
Saw a cigar-shaped object, well lit. The front part was lit, dark in the middle
and two yellow lights behind. At the tip there was a solid red light. The object appeared to be
bigger / wider behind. We saw it in binoculars as it passed south over Finnsåhøgda.

Date: 16.12.1983 Time: 10:50 pm and 11:10 pm Place: Between Haltdalen and Singsås
Observers: Per Rekstad and his wife
The observers were driving from Haltdalen to Singsås. They had been on an observation trip in Hessdalen. When they got halfway between Haltdalen and Singsås, this first observation was made.
They had stopped and were out of the car.
A yellow ball came from the southwest and passed to the northeast, another came straight from the opposite direction but
disappeared when it met the yellow ball. The yellow ball continued in the same direction. The balls were
observed in quite a large distance. The size was much larger than a large star. The speed was like
an airplane. There was a little wind. No sound could be heard.
When the observers arrived at Bjørgen at 11:10 pm, this observation was made: Saw the
church and thought the spire was reflecting light. Stopped at the bridge and saw something else than a reflection.
Drove up to the shop S-lager at Bjørgen, stopped and got out.
The object looked like two yellow headlights with a frame around it. A small red light, possibly on top of the
object pulsed slowly at least twice. Passing from south to north.

Observer: Hans Kosberggrind
I was driving from Hølonda down towards Hovin. Saw a bright orange ball, quite large,
which seemed to come up from a valley on the other side.
The ball continued towards Klæbu. It was seen for more than 20 minutes. Saw the landscape in the background.
It was silent.

Date: 27.11.1983 Time: 11:05 pm Place: The eastern side of mount Rognefjellet, Ålen
Observer: Kristine M. Hov
It was 5 minutes past 11 on Friday night, 11/27/83. I looked out the kitchen window.
There were stars in the sky, but quite dark. Suddenly there was a light
coming straight towards me. It came closer and closer and it was like a
vehicle with a bright light in front coming down the forest slope. At an
opening at the lower edge of the forest it stopped. Then the light turned north.
It stood there quietly for a while.
Directly behind the light I saw something like the right front of a helicopter with windows.
Then it went slowly north and down. Then it stopped and a large round light
like a flame shone up. Then it became completely dark and I saw no more of it.
It was completely dark up there. The time was then 10 minutes past 12 in the evening (midnight).
This was on the east side of mount Rognefjellet, above Eggengårdene (Egge farm). Stopped about east of it,
just by the summer house in the old Eggengårdene, where there is a museum now. When I first
saw it up in the sky, it was right above Ole Eggen's barn.
When it landed, it was right above the house where the Hammers live. Then it went
down and north to below that summer house.
Comments from Kristine afterwards:
I really wonder what it was I saw that Friday night. It's just a shame there weren't young people
who saw this and could have gone up and seen if there was anything up there, or traces of it.
(Kristine was 67 at that time) If I had only seen lights I would have thought it was a light phenomenon.
But it looked more like a vehicle when it came slowly across the
sky and when it came down through the forest, on the ground, and the light turned north and like there was something driving
north and down. Just like lights in front of a vehicle the whole time.

Date: 24.11.1983 Time: 06:00 pm Place: At the entrance to Aspåskjølen, Hessdalen
Observers: Roar Wister, Tonny Nilsen and Rolf Tønseth,
We were standing at Hessdalskjølen, at the entrance to Aspåskjølen. It was about 6:00 PM and
we had just driven from Ålen,
where we had seen a bright light right across the mountain towards Hessdalen.
The temperature was between -5°C and -10°C, strong winds with storm gusts to the north. Visibility was very good under the clouds,
which touched the top of Finnsåhøgda. Stars could be seen clearly from time to time.
Suddenly we saw a flash in the direction of Aspåskjølen. and maybe 1 minute later another flash in the direction of Litlfjellet.
We didn't count the flashes, but there must have been 4 - 5 flashes. We immediately drove into
Aspåskjølen with the camera equipment. At about 06:15 pm a plane came from the north, from Litlfjellet.
Despite the wind, the sound was strong. Then at 06:23 pm, from the same place came an object with
3 red lights in front and a white flashing light behind (possibly behind on the right side). The observation lasted about 1 minute.
At about 07:30 pm we went back to Hessdalskjølen. Nothing to see.
At 08:58 pm the object comes again, from the same location. It was seen in the northwest and it went
south and disappeared in the southwest, either up into the cloud cover or it just turned off the lights.
There were 3 red lights and a white flashing. There was no sound!
The observation lasted about 1 minute. The object disappeared over Våhuskølen. At first
it seemed as if the object had irregular speed, but then it became completely steady.
At 11:41 pm a plane flew from south to north at high altitude.
Could only be heard due to the cloud cover.

Observer: Asbjørn Furunes
sbjørn was driving from Singsås to Støren. At Rognes Bridge he saw a red/orange ball passing
at moderate speed east and turning slightly south over Budal. It was somewhat larger than a
New Year's rocket. Observed for more than 20 seconds under the clouds. The observer stopped the car
during the observation. It was dry weather and mild.

Date: 07.11.1983 Time: 18:45 Place: Heggseth, Hessdalen
Observers: Jon Arvid Aspås and veterinarian Hegstad
We came out of the barn and saw a plane passing from south to north. As it came
a little north of Hessdalen we observed a luminous ball that ran parallel to the plane,
passed and moved to the left, and stopped.
The ball grew and became 5 to 6 times larger than a large star, 1/2 the wingspan.
The ball stood still until the plane had passed. It shrank and disappeared to the northwest.

At 05:00 am did Ingmar drove up Hessdalslia and spotted a blank
luminous object which was located at the same place as the observation on 20 September. The object stood
below Rognefjellet and on its front side.
The object looked like a triangle with light bulbs around it. It was bigger than a full moon.
It changed light intensity from weak to strong. Slow pulsating.
When the observer later parked down in Ålen, he saw an object of the same kind which
lit up the whole mountain.

Date: 27.03.1983 Time: 09:35 pm Place: Soknedal
Observer: Noralf Årvåg Vagnild.
This observation was made far from Hessdalen, between Støren and Berkåk, about 50 km west-northwest of Hessdalen.
I had this experience on March 27, Palm Sunday 1983.
I was at my cabin at Vagnild sæter in Soknedal. The cabin is
east of Garli station, but on the other side of the ridge.
t was 9:35 PM when I opened the window to listen for sounds from the grouse that used to nest between the birches
above the cabin. Then I saw a light west of the cabin. At the distance I saw it,
it seemed about 1/2 meter square, but the distance was completely impossible to determine. Yellowish light.
I took marks on the birch trees above the cabin and could then see that the light moved back and forth
3-4 times before it started to move to the northwest. When it had come a little further
away I took out my binoculars. Then the light looked more like a saucer at 45 degrees. I watched this light for half an hour.
The moon was in the southwest.

100 to 150 meters above the church. I was so excited and eager to go down the ravine.
It just disappeared in the bends, but otherwise I saw it the whole time. Followed it from Karben(?) to
a little below Eggafossen. There it disappeared. It was 12 km. That was it.

Date: 12.02.1983 Time: 05:53 pm Place: Litlfjellet, Hessdalen
Observer: Leif Havik.
The object came from the south and went north. It seemed to follow the Finnsåhøgda,
but it is impossible to give an exact path as there were snowdrifts that partially
hid the mountains. It was not until the next day that I drew down the landscape and the object's path.
At the edge on the north side of Finnsåhøgda it followed the formations down along the valley side,
and moved towards the northeast. All the time it moved slowly. It stopped at point B in the drawing,
and stood still for a few seconds, and moved on to point C, stopped for a few seconds and finally disappeared
up a slope in a northeasterly direction.
At first the object was red-orange with flickering light (like a torch). When it stopped at point C, it turned
completely white (bright light) and disappeared at a tremendous speed. It was not possible to see any shape.
Distance is unknown, but it seemed to be following the lower part of the Øggdalen, that is, it was 1.5 to 2 km away.
I had a severe headache on my left side just before and during the observation.
This repeated itself a little after 11:00 pm, but then it was not possible to see anything
due to dense snow.
During the observation the temperature was -7°C, fresh northwest breeze, light snow showers, haze, poor visibility.
It was not possible to see lights from Aspås, Morken, Åsen during the observation.

Observer: Kari Helen Jordhøy.
I saw a round, very bright red, shiny, aluminum-like "round" light, which first started to rotate,
then it started to "zig-zag" back and forth. This lasted for maybe 10 to 15 minutes. Then it was suddenly gone.
his happened around 5-6 am on a Monday morning this winter (1983), southeast of Rogne, outside my bedroom window.
(Kari was 17 when this happened.)
