Leif Havik and the two companions spent the night at Lillevolds cottage at Finnsådalen.
They used the day to familiarize themselves with the terrain.
They found a nice place to observe from, on a small hill just behind (west) the setra of Bjarne Lillevold. .
At 07:00 pm they had located themself at the observation site and were ready with their photographic equipment.
Suddenly, at 07:33 pm a star-shaped light appeared in the south.
The light became warmer and approached quickly. It was detached and had two yellow-white lights
and a red one in front.
It was silent and moved towards Finnsåhøgda.
Pictures were taken with 400 ASA film and a 270 mm telephoto lens. The camera was placed on a tripod (of course).
The phenomenon disappeared behind the nearest peak on Finnsåhøgda. After a few seconds
it appeared from the west and made a nice turn along the mountain edge before disappearing again into the mountain.
So it did an extra beat before it disappeared to the north. This last time only the red light was visible
The lights were so strong that Leif used an exposure time of only 1/15 second.
With the short exposure time, the black part of the phenomenon did not appear.
